Gazebo roof from profiled sheeting: how much sheet and why the pitch decides

18.08.2026

Short answer. The roof of a 3×4 m gazebo with overhangs is 16.6 m² of sheet — five sheets 3.6 m long. The binding constraint here is not price but pitch: gazebo roofs are usually shallow, and that rules out most profiles. The working choice is T35 from 9° or T45 from 8°. Steel for such a roof comes to 3,300-3,400 UAH.

Roof calculation

ItemHow it is calculatedGazebo 3×4 m
Roof size with 30 cm overhang(3 + 0.6) × (4 + 0.6)3.6 × 4.6 m
Area16.6 m²
Sheets of T35 (width 1,080 mm)4.6 ÷ 1.085 sheets 3.6 m long
Steel T20r, 198 UAH/m²≈ 3,280 UAH
Steel T35, 205 UAH/m²≈ 3,390 UAH
Steel T57, 257 UAH/m²≈ 4,260 UAH

The gap between the cheapest and the dearest option is about 980 UAH across the whole gazebo. At that volume there is little point saving on the profile — take the one that suits your pitch.

The pitch decides for you

Gazebos are rarely built with a steep roof: it looks heavy and eats headroom. A typical pitch is 5-15°, and that, not the budget, is what rules profiles out.

9-12°T35, T45, T57T20r and Classic

Laying a profile on a pitch below its minimum is not an option: water climbs the horizontal overlap by capillary action. This is physics, not a warranty clause.

What people discover after the first rain

A gazebo is the one place where you sit directly under a metal sheet. There is no attic and no insulation between you and the rain, so the sound comes through in full. Steel thickness changes almost nothing here: 0.50 mm sounds the same as 0.45.

What does work is a lining ceiling under the frame — timber cladding, plywood or polycarbonate with a gap. It damps the sound and hides the underside of the sheet at the same time. With no ceiling, rain in the gazebo will be clearly audible, and it is better to know that before ordering than after.

The frame

We do sell structural tube — the manager quotes it for your volume. Welding the frame, setting the posts and installation are not our work.

How to order

Step 1. Measure the roof

The gazebo dimensions in plan and the overhang you want. Add the pitch or the rise, so we can rule out unsuitable profiles.

Step 2. Pick the profile by pitch

Use the table above. If the pitch is not fixed yet, tell the manager the height you want and we will work it out together.

Step 3. Order sheets cut to the roof

Call (067) 077-56-77, Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00. Production 1-2 days, delivery a further 1-5 days.

What we do not do

We do not build gazebos, weld frames or travel for on-site measuring. We calculate from your dimensions, roll the sheets to the roof size and deliver by our own trucks.

FAQ

Can a gazebo be roofed with metal tile? Yes, if the pitch is 14° or more. On a shallow roof Classic does not work.

A hip roof — how much sheet? More than the roof area, because of the angled cuts: allow 15-20% extra. The manager will give the exact figure from your drawing.

Which colour heats up less? A light one. But in a gazebo you sit under the sheet rather than on it, so the difference is felt less than on a house roof.

Are battens needed under a gazebo roof? Yes, as on any roof. Spacing is covered in a separate article.

How long is the wait? Production 1-2 working days, delivery a further 1-5 days.
