Short answer. A 3×2 m shed with a 2.2 m wall takes about 31 m² of profiled sheeting — roughly 5,900 UAH at our price. Profile T10, thickness 0.45 mm, from 190 UAH/m². Ordering sheets cut to the wall height instead of a standard length saves almost 600 UAH. The calculation and the arithmetic behind that saving are below.
Calculating for your size
Two numbers are enough: the perimeter of the building and the wall height. The working width of our sheet is 1,155 mm, so the number of wall sheets equals the perimeter divided by 1.155, rounded up.
| Item | How it is calculated | Shed 3×2 m, wall 2.2 m |
|---|---|---|
| Wall area | perimeter × height | 10 × 2.2 = 22 m² |
| Sheets for walls | perimeter ÷ 1.155 | 9 sheets 2.2 m long |
| Mono-pitch roof | (width + overhang) × (length + overhang) | 2.3 × 3.4 = 7.8 m² |
| Sheets for the roof | roof width ÷ 1.155 | 3 sheets 2.3 m long |
| Total steel including sheet width | ≈ 31 m² | |
| Cost of steel | 31 m² × 190 UAH | ≈ 5,900 UAH |
We do not sell the frame, fasteners or footings and do not quote prices for them — budget those separately.
Why a cut-to-size sheet costs less than a standard one
A 2.2 m wall matches no common standard length. A 2.5 m sheet leaves 30 cm of offcut each. A 2 m sheet falls 20 cm short and forces a horizontal joint, and a joint on a wall eventually lets water through.
| How you buy | Steel purchased | Waste | Overpayment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard 2.5 m sheet | 9 × 1.155 × 2.5 = 26.0 m² | 3.1 m² — 12% | about 590 UAH |
| 2.2 m sheet cut to size | 9 × 1.155 × 2.2 = 22.9 m² | none | — |
We roll sheets to any length for the project — that is the normal mode of the line, not a paid option. Wall waste therefore drops to zero and the wall comes out in one piece, with no horizontal joint.
Which profile to take
| Situation | Profile | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shed in a yard, wall up to 2.5 m | T10 | enough stiffness at the lowest price |
| Open site, wind | T20f | a higher wave, so the sheet flexes less under load |
| Roof pitch from 12° | T20r | a capillary groove drains water out of the overlap |
| Roof span over 3 m | T35 | carries snow without dense battens |
0.45 mm is the working minimum for a shed. 0.40 mm saves about 5% but dents noticeably more easily during installation. Above 0.50 mm makes no sense on a structure this size.
Four reasons steel rusts sooner than it should
This is not about construction — it is about handling the sheet, and it is what we see in the enquiries we get.
| Mistake | What happens | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Cutting with an abrasive disc | sparks burn the coating and zinc along the edge, and the cut starts rusting within a season | tin snips, nibblers or a fine-tooth blade |
| Screwing into the top wave on a roof | the fixing sits in the path of the water and the washer stops sealing over time | on roofs fix into the bottom wave; on walls either is fine |
| A frame post standing straight on the soil | the tube wicks moisture and rusts from the ground up — the sheet survives, the frame does not | raise the footing above the soil and cap the tube end |
| A pack of sheets left in the rain | water trapped between sheets never dries and leaves white deposit on the zinc | store tilted and dry, and split the pack within a week |
How to order
Step 1. Take three measurements
The perimeter of the building, the wall height and the roof slope dimensions. Nothing else is needed — we work out the cutting list.
Step 2. Tell us where the shed stands
An enclosed yard or an open field — this only decides between T10 and T20f. If unsure, tell the manager which way the wind comes from.
Step 3. Give the manager the sizes
Call (067) 077-56-77, Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00. The manager counts the sheets, quotes the price with the coating and colour and gives a lead time. Production takes 1-2 days, delivery a further 1-5 days.
What we do not do
We are a plant, not a building crew. We will not build the shed and we do not travel for on-site measuring; we do not sell frames or fasteners. We calculate from your dimensions or from a drawing you send, roll the sheets to size and deliver by our own trucks.
FAQ
Can I order a sheet 2.2 m long? Yes, and 2.17 m as well. The length is set with the order and there is no surcharge for a non-standard size.
How much dearer is T20f than T10? About 8 UAH per square metre. On a 3×2 m shed that is around 250 UAH, and you get a higher wave and more stiffness for it.
Will one sheet cover the full wall height? Yes — that is the point of ordering to size: a wall with no horizontal joint does not leak.
What is the warranty on the steel? From 20 to 50 years depending on the steel class. On Swedish SSAB GreenCoat steel the warranty comes from the steel maker itself — up to 50 years.
How long is the wait? Production 1-2 working days, delivery a further 1-5 days depending on distance.
